B2 - offers
The B2-courses provide the basis for a proficient language user.
If you have already learned German on your own or elsewhere and have reached level B1 in a free placement test, the B2-course is the right choice for you.
The teaching language will be exclusively German. Authentic and current topics will be discussed during lessons and students will be given the opportunity to express their point of view on a variety of social issues.
At the end of the course students will be able to understand complex texts and abstract content, to analyse pros and cons on issues, and to discuss their arguments in German.

The B2-level is one of the entrance requirements for many degree programs at the THWS. Here you can get an overview of language entrance requirements of THWS.
Fees & cancellation
Course fee incl. exam from summer semester 2023:
THWS students: 195.00€
THWS student applicants with letter of admission: 195.00€
THWS student applicants without letter of admission: 489.00€
External course participants: 489.00€
Examination fees without course participation:
Students and applicants with notification of admission: 195.00€
Non-students of THWS & applicants without letter of admission: 489.00€

Please note: The fees have to be payed, if the course was not cancelled within the given time (14 days after registration) via the withdrawal form.
Invoice:
The invoice will be sent to the email address used for registration 4-6 weeks after the beginning of the course.
Please pay on time to avoid further fees. (The deadline is stated in your invoice).
Payment is only possible by bank transfer. (Paypal or cash payment is not possible).
Tip: With a German or EU bank account you pay no service fees.
If you pay with a non-EU bank account, we ask you to add the conversion fees of the respective currency of the country when transferring the course fee.
Cancellation:
Cancellation is only possible within 14 days after your registration.
Please use this cancellation form.
Please note that your registration is binding and you will have to pay the entire course fee if you do not cancel in time, even if you do not participate in the course.
Examination
In the end of the courses there will be a final exam consisting of four parts:

You will be informed by e-mail (4-6 weeks after the exam) about the exam results.
If you do not pass any part of the exam, you can retake it within two semesters free of charge.
In case you are unable to write the exam, you need to provide a valid justification (e.g. medical certificate), in order to retake the exam within two semesters free of charge.
If you are not enrolled in an ongoing course, but you need a language certificate, you can enrol in a separate exam without attending any courses.
Certificate
If you successfully pass the exam, you will receive a certificate.
Which certificate you get depends on various conditions:

The following course book will be used: Aspekte neu B2 (ISBN 978-3-12-605025-8)
It can be borrowed from the library. In addition, materials will be provided on the Moodle platform THWS E-Learning.The access credentials and further information about the course will be given in class.
