The HOFI research project focuses on investigating the ageing behaviour and service life of electrical insulation systems made from organic materials under high-frequency electrical stress. By analysing their thermal and dielectric properties and applying advanced diagnostic techniques, suitable insulating materials are to be identified. The aim is to develop an ageing model that provides the basis for standardized testing and qualification procedures. This is essential for ensuring the reliable operation of power electronics in complex applications.
