Curiosity. Research. Real Impact.
Part of the Data Science Hub in the AI Network of Bavaria
Our goal is to develop research that’s both highly scientific and practical. Our team of researchers, THWS professors, and collaborators works across a wide range of AI fields, including:
- Computer Vision: teaching machines to see and understand the world
- Dynamic Neural Architectures: designing adaptable AI systems
- Law and AI: exploring the legal and ethical dimensions of intelligent technologies
- Representation and Learning in AI: developing smarter ways for machines to understand and reason
- Robotics and AI: bringing intelligence into physical systems
- Natural Language Processing: enabling AI to read, write, and understand human language
- Statistical Sensor Data Fusion: combining data from multiple sources for better insights
Together, we tackle these challenges with cutting edge research and innovative, thoughtful solutions that bridge theory and practical applications.
Research doesn’t stop at the lab. Our professors bring AI into the classroom through our Master’s programme in Artificial Intelligence (MAI) and in other programmes of THWS Faculty of Computer Science and Business Information Systems (FIW) and work closely with companies and community partners to turn new methods and tools into real-world benefits.
Together with the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (CAIDAS) at Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg, we form the Data-Science Hub of the Bavarian AI Network, supported by the High-Tech Agenda Bavaria (HTA).
At CAIRO.thws we foster collaboration within THWS and across the AI research community, connecting ideas and expertise. We also work closely with the Center for Robotics (CERI) at THWS, exploring how AI and robotics can come together in exciting ways.
We’re growing, evolving, and excited about what’s ahead.
