Our general principles

The Institute for Energy and High Voltage Technology (IEHT) sees itself as an interdisciplinary technological interface between laboratories at the university and external partners from science and industry. Its aim is to bring together and further develop energy and high-voltage engineering competences in projects.

The IEHT's research partners include the most nationally and internationally recognised companies and research institutions.

An important organisational principle of the IEHT is to dovetail research and teaching at all levels of academic education and to involve students in projects at an early stage in order to develop problem-solving skills and pass on current knowledge directly to future specialists and managers. As a result, six IEHT academic staff members have already been able to incorporate their research results into a dissertation and have been awarded a doctorate in a cooperative doctoral project. Three of them have since been appointed to professorships at German universities.
