Service for doctoral candidates, interested students and supervisors of doctoral projects

The THWS offers an inspiring environment for the further development of scientists in the early stages of their careers.

As a central institution on the Campus for Applied Research, the Graduate Center supports the postgraduate qualification phase of an academic career with various offers for those interested in doing a doctorate, doctoral candidates and supervisors of doctoral projects.

Information & Advice

We offer comprehensive information and advice and provide support on the path to a doctorate with information events and handouts.

Qualification

Our broad program includes workshops on academic writing, presentation techniques and soft skills tailored to the needs of doctoral candidates.

Networking

Regular events such as thematic research colloquia and regular get-togethers offer the opportunity to make contacts and exchange ideas peer-to-peer.

Structure

The Graduate Center integrates the cross-university GradNate School NISys, a cooperation between THWS, Aschaffenburg University of Applied Sciences and Coburg University of Applied Sciences, into the processes and structures of THWS.

Quality Assurance

The Graduate Center promotes quality assurance for cooperative doctorates and doctorates at the Doctoral Center and is responsible for monitoring the doctoral process for THWS.

International Exchange

Visiting researchers at various career stages are very welcome at THWS and are admitted to the university centrally via the Graduate Center. Information is available on the intranet.

The offer is a cooperation between the Campus for Applied Research and the sub-project for the promotion of young academics in the university-wide project “ProPereTHWS - Professorial Recruitment and Development at THWS”. Funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, this project develops offers for various target groups along the academic career path.
