IP strategy of THWS: protect and utilise innovations

Through its IP strategy, the Technical University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (THWS) creates a clear framework for protecting and commercially utilising intellectual property. Not only should research findings be published but also commercially utilised through patenting, licensing, and cooperations with industry.

The Campus of Applied Research (CAF) supports researchers and students in registering their inventions, patenting, and start-ups. In close cooperation with the Bayerische Patentallianz GmbH (BayPAT), we professionally evaluate and utilise innovative ideas.

Our strategy offers clear rules regarding copyright, patents, and know how and creates incentives through remuneration and commercial utilisation.
