Hello and Welcome!
We are delighted that you applied for studying at FHWS and want to become a member of our FHWS family.

To help you get started with your studies, we have put together an initial collection of information.
Important links and info at a glance
Living in Würzburg and Schweinfurt
Würzburg
The metropolis on the Main River with its open air festivals, famous vine festivals and, of course, the Main River for swimming or relaxing is situated favourably along railway and motorway junctions right in the middle of Germany. About every fourth inhabitant in Würzburg is a student. Therefore, it is one of the youngest cities in Germany. Follow the link to read more about Würzburg
Schweinfurt
The sometimes just as "industrial city" labelled city of Schweinfurt has far more to offer than you might think! It is nestled between the lovely areas of Rhön, Steigerwald and Haßberge mountains, has a romantic historic old town and, above all: on hot days, the Baggersee quarry pond offers a beach and water for cooling down. At this FHWS location the mainly technically oriented degree programmes are offered, such as Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Logistics, or Business and Engineering. In the vicinity, there are many industrial companies you can contact already during your studies.Follow the link to read more about Schweinfurt
Accommodation
You are looking for a flat or a shared apartment? The Studentenwerk and its student residences have rooms available. It's worth having a look at their offer!
Starting your studies
Your studies will start on 1 October 2021 with an information week for all 1st year students. Information on the start of studies are available on the info pages for 1st year students. It's best to take a look at these pages before the start of your studies.
About FHWS and the coronavirus pandemic
FHWS aims at resuming face-to-face teaching in the winter semester as well as generally re-opening buildings. The extent to which digital teaching/learning components will still be necessary depends on the pandemic situation and can therefore only be finally decided in the autumn. Have a look at the coronavirus info page for the latest information.
