Re-enrolment and payment of the semester fee

General / deadlines for re-enrolment

Students must re-enrol for each semester in due form and on time to continue studying (=re-enrolement).

Re-enrolment is effected via the THWS CampusPortal and subject to the following deadlines:

  • For summer semesters: 15 through 31 January
  • For winter semesters: 1 through 15 July

Re-enrolment must be made during these periods via the THWS CampusPortal.

Please note:

  • If you have not yet paid the fees for the subsequent semester, you may not validate your THWS-Card for the subsequent semester.
  • If you fail to re-enrol within the deadline, you will be de-registered.

Re-enrolment procedure

To start re-enrolment, please log into the THWS CampusPortal.

Via My Studies --> Student Service go to "Payments".

By clicking the "Pay"-button, you will be re-directed to the webshop where you can pay the semester fee via PayPal or credit card (MasterCard, Visa).

After we have received your payment of the semester fee, the re-enrolment is officially initiated and the enrolment certificate for the subsequent semester is provided for download in the THWS CampusPortal. by mid-February (for summer semester) of by early August (for winter semester). Shortly before the start of the new semester, validation of the THWS Card will be possible. For the exact date, please see the academic calendar.

What happens if I miss the re-enrolment deadline?

By way of exception, you may effect late re-enrolment via the THWS CampusPortal if the semester invoice has not yet been paid an you have not been de-registered. (Course of action: see above)

What happens if electronic payment is not successful or cancelled?

You may check wheter your payment was successful. For this, please log into the THWS CampusPortal.

Follow the thread My Studies --> Student Service --> Payments.

In case of a successful payment, the paid amount will be listed in the column saying "Credit" (see example).

If the amount listed in the "Credit"-column is "0.00 €" then the payment was not successful. Payment registration may take up to two working days.

If after two working days no payment is recorded, please effect payment again.

What happens if you cannot effect online payment (i.e. you do not have a credit card or PayPal)?

If you do not have a credit card or a PayPal account, you may also pay the semester fee via bank transfer to the bank account given hereafter. Please note that bank transfers from outside the SEPA-region may be subject to fees payable by you.

Please always state the purpose, so that your payment cannot be assigned!

Paying the semester fee for students registering at THWS

Students registering at THWS must generally pay the semeser fee when applying for enrolment for a degree programm (please also see step 5 of the application procedure in the THWS CampusPortal).

Please be aware that the incoming payment is only checked shortly before the semester begins (beginning of March for start in a summer semester; beginning of September for start in a winter semester) even if you have arranged for the semester fee to be transferred well in advance.

If the electronic payment process is cancelled or unsuccessful, please wait about two working days and restart the payment process via E-Payment in the THWS CampusPortal.

If you do not have a credit card or a PayPal account, you may also pay the semester fee via bank transfer to the THWS bank account.
