Trained psychosocial first aiders (MHFA/EMG)

What do psychosocial first aiders do?

Our psychosocial first aiders are trained to listen empathetically, recognise the signs of mental distress and crises, and offer appropriate support. They are not professional therapists, but see themselves as a bridge to further resources and assistance. Their role is to provide an initial point of contact for students in distress and to support them in seeking professional help if necessary.

Further information can be found on the MHFA homepage and EMG homepage.

How can you benefit from this?

Students who find themselves in stressful situations or are confronted with mental health problems can confidently turn to our psychosocial first responders. The conversations are confidential, respectful and non-judgmental. An appreciative, resource-oriented attitude forms the basis for the work of the first responders.
