Study contents
The three-semesters master's programme Digital Business Systems combines economic and technological contents. During the foundation phase you build fundamental knowledge of digital business models, IT management, and business processes. In the main studies, you develop in-depth knowledge of artificial intelligence, software architectures, and digital transformation. Students build theoretical knowledge in lectures, seminars, and practical projects. A special characteristic is the close cooperation with companies, which provides practical insights. The programme concludes with a master's thesis.
Programme structure
1: Main studies (1st and 2nd semester)
In the first and second semester, you will learn to analyse digital business processes and further develop business models. You will explore digital transformation, IT consulting, and software architectures in order to develop and implement digital solutions for businesses. In Web Analytics, you will deepen your knowledge of data-driven decisions. You will also deal with the ethical and legal challenges of AI. The central focus is on the impact of new technologies on society. In addition, in the Human-Computer Interaction and UX Design modules, you will learn how to design interactive user-friendly systems.
2: Final phase (3rd semester)
In the third semester, the focus is on the practical application of the knowledge you have acquired. In your Master's thesis, you will work on a current research question directly related to a company and can deepen your specialist knowledge in a targeted manner. In the research seminar, you will explore scientific methods and prepare yourself for publications or a further academic career. The close integration of theory and practice, as well as cooperation with companies, offer you the ideal conditions for a successful start in the digital economy or a subsequent doctorate.
