Overview of language entrance requirements

The following overview sorted by faculty, degree, and degree programme shows the required level of German language proficiency and/or the required or recommended level of foreign language proficiency which must be fulfilled as language entrance requirement at the time of enrolment.

Annotations:

* C2: if German is chosen as A-language or C1: if German is chosen as B-language

** C1: for chosen B-language

*** For German school leaving certificates: Level B2 is recognised if the certificate of the general higher education entrance qualification shows at least the grade "sufficient" in the continued foreign language (i.e. in the first or second foreign language of the German Gymnasium or at the corresponding level of another type of school leading to the general higher education entrance qualification) or if the certificate of the higher education entrance qualification of a public or state-recognised German Fachoberschule or Berufsoberschule shows at least the grade "sufficient" in the relevant language. Alternatively, level B2 may also be proven by another official document.

**** at the beginning of the first semester; the examination passed at the German Language Center (German Jordanian University) is also recognised.

***** requirement for participation in on-site courses offered in Germany, proof must be submitted no later than by the end of the fifth semester; the exam passed at the GJU German Language Center will also be recognised.

****** by the end of the fourth semester at the latest; the examination passed at the German Language Center (German Jordanian University) is also recognised.

******* when choosing English as the language of instruction and examination; if poof of English knowledge at B2-level is submitted upon enrolment, proof of German knowledge at A2-level must be submitted by the end of the second semester.

******** If not already attained, it es recommended to improve German language skills to the level of German C1 alongside your studies trough the Campus Language Proficiency (Campus Sprache)
