THWS Business School strengthens partnership with India

Exchange between students from THWS and their partner university ISME possible without study fees

During their visit to the 12th International Conference at the International School of Management Excellence (ISME) in Bangalore, India, Professor Dr. Rainer Wehner and Professor Dr. Harald Bolsinger from the THWS Business School discussed further cooperation opportunities with the partner university ISME. The ISME is part of a research partnership between THWS, the University of Nigeria, the Centre for the Study of the Economies of Africa, Nigeria, and the University of Hohenheim under the coordination of the business ethicist Professor Dr. Bolsinger.

The turnout was a contract on regular student exchange of students of the German public higher education institution THWS and the Indian private higher education institution ISME: From now on and without extra study fees, students of the two higher education institutions may complete parts of their studies at the respective partner university and experience the local culture. At the end of February, (then) president of THWS Professor Dr. Dr. h. c. Robert Grebner signed the partnership contract in Würzburg.

The International School of Management Excellence in Bangalore is a renowned private higher education institution, which was recently certified in India for innovative teaching practices in transformational student development. The internationally oriented, yet equally practice-oriented higher education institution strong in research shares the same values as the THWS, for example integrity, team spirit, management excellence, as Professor Dr. Bolsinger emphasised.

At the conference, Jörg Meyer of the University of Hohenheim took the lead in presenting the interims results of a research programme in the field of Spiritual Intelligence together with Professor Dr. Sindhu Shantha Nair (ISME), Bello Muhammad Abdullahi (Centre for the Study of the Economies of Africa), and Professor Dr. Harald J. Bolsinger, and Professor Dr. Rainer Wehner. At the conference visited by researchers and students, Professor Dr. Harald Bolsinger gave a lecture on "Sustainable Entrepreneurship". "India with all the temples has a culture that is strongly influenced by spirituality. This makes it an ideal research environment for identifying mechanisms of spiritual capital," Bolsinger explained.

Programme director of the degree programme International Management at the THWS Business School, Professor Dr. Rainer Wehner, was impressed by the ISME and added: "The ISME is a small, yet highly agile higher education institution in Bangalore – for our Business School and our students they are an asset and they offer the chance to experience India with its diverse cultures."
