FHWS building at Sanderheinrichsleitenweg Würzburg

Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical engineers with sound fundamental knowledge and skills are need in nearly all areas of industry and the public sector. Through intensive training in the fundamental subjects up to the 3rd semester, and focussed specialisation in the 5th and 6th semester in the fields of applied material and production engineering, digital engineering, power engineering, automotive systems, automotive engineering, mechanical engineering & design, mechatronics, lightweight engineering, simulation, production technology and real-time data processing, students will receive a broad foundation of knowledge, and a wide range of professional opportunities. Modern computer technologies and the consideration of economic and ecologic aspects are also part of the degree programme. The further development of the students’ own personality and of meta-disciplinary qualifications (“soft skills”) is promoted by the programme’s project-oriented character. The practical semester represents the bridge between theory and practice. Modern, generously equipped laboratories and connections to the industry allow for an advanced and practice-oriented education.
