Lost Property
If you have found lost property or a lost THWS Card please hand it in to the Service Center or to the Technical Services Office at locations without Service Center. Lost property is kept an may be reclaimed.
Telephone Systems - Voice over IP
We use a Voice over IP (VoIP) telephone system. In this system, the telephone sets are connected to the new telephone system over the university's local data network.
Each employee and staff member has his or her personal phone number (comparable to his or her personal email address). In addition, there are function-related phone numbers assigned to certain positions at the university such as the dean, the vice dean, the chairman of a board or committee, or the director of a department, etc., irrespective of who is currently holding the position. All organisational units (e.g. the Library, the Media Centre, and ITSC, etc.) and laboratories can also be called on their function-related phone numbers.
The first digit of a personal extension number is 8; the first digit of a function-related phone number is 6 or 9.
The numbers do not have to be used with specific telephone sets but can be registered on any phone connected to the University's telephone system. Up to 5 extension numbers can be registered on one phone at the same time. Each extension number can have its own voicemail answering service. You may also have your messages delivered as voicemail to email.

Detailed information about the telephone systems used at our campuses and about email accounts provided for University staff is available to professors, teachers and lecturers, and all members of the university staff on the Intranet. (You will need to log in to the Intranet using your THWS account.)
